The Story behind Soul Sister Health

Hi there!

We are Anna and Em, your Soul Sisters and the creators of Soul Sister Health, your chief motivators and your biggest cheer leaders!  We are here to help you live with MORE, while creating balance and better health.

We are though, at the bottom of it all, two women with crazy lives of our own – our own children, juggling our family life, work and commitments, just like you are – so we know as well as anyone just how tricky and confusing it can be to try and achieve some balance.

We both know so many women who are living in a ‘haze’.  Who are constantly being pulled in so many different directions – study, work, family, children, relationships, friendships.  They don’t feel like they are doing particularly well at any of these things, or if they are, they feel guilty that it is to the detriment of the other elements.  They are literally burning the candle at both ends, trying to meet the expectations of everyone else and in the process they have sacrificed their own health and wellness. They have resigned themselves to the fact that that is just how things are.

But, hang on a minute – is this where we really want to be?  Is that why we have worked so hard for all of these opportunities, only to be left exhausted, mentally and physically?  Hey girls, we are here to tell you that it really doesn’t have to be that way and we truly believe that with the right information, we are all capable of living with so much more strength, energy and vitality.  We believe that great health can be achieved – even when you are busy!  You just need to know how.

Through our group fitness, we have watched groups of women from so many different backgrounds, ages and stages of life, come together through exercise and form lifelong friendships while working together to better their own health and wellbeing.  Sometimes the goal began as fitness-related but often the outcome was so different – the relationships and interactions had nurtured their soul and given them so much more.

Soul Sister Health was born out of our desire to develop a bigger community, where we can inspire and motivate more women to a healthier version of themselves.  Where we can give them the tools to help them move towards better health and to live their life, with more balance.

This idea of community is very important to us – in this age where we are becoming more disconnected from each other as technology takes over, we relished the idea of using that technology to do the very thing that it is taking away from – creating a new community – but this time, an online one.  A community where we share information, provide support for each other and most importantly give women and girls the resources to navigate their own health, to truly thrive.

We want Soul Sister Health to be your online community for all things ‘health’.  We want you to find your tribe – to have a supportive community of like-minded women to rely on and gain strength from, if and when you need it.  To give you the tools to be able to live a life with more energy and vitality.  To know how to move more and reap the benefits of this more active lifestyle.  To understand what constitutes good nutrition and how to incorporate it into your busy life, for a lifetime!

Life is busy, it is fast paced, it is hectic – we all need to be at the top of our game, physically and mentally to cope with whatever it throws at us. We are here to encourage good nutrition, daily movement and a little self-love, whatever your stage of life. We don’t believe that it is too early, nor too late to start prioritizing your health.  And we are here to show you how.

We are women, who truly understand how much better you feel, in all areas of your life, when you look after yourself, are moving more and feel fitter and strong.  Through our back to basics framework, we want to empower women, in different stages of life, with skills and knowledge to achieve greater health through our research-based online exercise programming; local health and nutrition workshops and our practical online health and wellness guides.  We want you to be able to confidently navigate your own health.  We love nothing more than to inspire and educate women to make small changes, every day, to help them live their life, full of energy and with balance.

This is what drives everything that we do at Soul Sister Health, and it’s what makes us different. We don’t believe in short term “fixes” – we are all about small, achievable and sustainable changes that we can make to our daily life that help us improve our health, little by little, forever!  We are in this for the long haul.
